Alice and Maira and Sofia and Dave and David?

Heads UP People!
Levi's has partnered with famed chef and food activist Alice Waters (and some stylish friends!) to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of her restaurant, Chez Panisse. In honor of this, they have collaborated on a set of t-shirts, the proceeds of which will benefit the Edible Schoolyard Project. Watch the little film over there. This is a program that Alice Waters started in 1995 to help educate local school children on healthy eating, even helping them to plant their own gardens. Today (August 24th...sorry for the last minute notice) , they are celebrating with a “School Lunch”. There will food, music, and fun - and it all benefits an amazing cause! Good Timing is THE KEY

Last week my friend Mary Ann Moss directed her Mega-Following to my Blog. SO sweet. If I were smart, I would have continued to post like a crazy-person to support the new traffic, but:

I had one post scheduled while I was gone, but that was IT....oh well. With that in mind, I'm going to toss up a peek of a paiting that I'm working on. I'm about to change it A LOT, but let's just GO with it.....

I noticed that my last few posts were vidoes. That, and the fact that a friend emailed me and said: "...fun clips, but what have YOU been working on??!!!..."    oh yeah. That. I like to keep my own stuff down to a dull roar, but here are a few shots. The images below appear in my sketchbook...I've been deeply into this weird abstract thing. I think of it as scales. Musical scales for the eyes. The pages may become paintings or they may not.....we'll see.

Move-Eat-Learn

A friend (that's YOU Miss Lily) sent me the link to these short films. I was deeply grateful for being transported away from Colorado for a few moments. Three young men embarked on the adventure that we ALL want. No offence Elizabeth G., but this trip appeals to me more than Eat-Pray-Love. The editing here is crazy-good in addition to the cinematography. Here's the caption on the shorts:

3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films.....

= The trip of a lifetime.
